Adoption Application

At Whisker Mission, we ask detailed questions on our adoption questionnaire because we take our responsibility to our cats and kittens, and to our adopters, very seriously. Many of the pets in our care have unique histories, personalities, or sensitivities, and being thorough helps us make the best possible match for both you and them. Every question is there to ensure a safe, loving, and lasting forever home — and we appreciate your patience and honesty as we help you find your perfect companion.

What's next?

Our team will review your application and reach out via email to start the conversation.

From there, we’ll work with you to answer questions, learn more about what you’re looking for, and help determine a good match. If it seems like a potential fit, we’ll coordinate a meet-and-greet so you can spend time with the cat in their foster home.

If it’s a match, we’ll move forward with the adoption—either that day or at a mutually convenient time.

As a foster-based rescue, our cats are located in private homes, so meetings are scheduled individually.  We focus on potential adopters in the northern counties of Illinois and southern counties of Wisconsin to facilitate ongoing support, if needed.  We also look for potential adopters who are age 21 or older.

As kittens become available for adoption, we will also be hosting adoption events at local pet stores. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for those dates and locations.
